Junior UI/UX Designer

We’re hiring a Junior UI/UX Designer. We offer a hands-on experience for those with a real passion for UI/UX design, who want to join a dynamic Product team.

Designed for PR and communications teams, MediaHQ is the all-in-one media contacts database and press release distribution software (SaaS) with the mission to connect your story with your audience. It was founded by entrepreneur Jack Murray in 2009. 

Our cutting edge software is the best, fastest and most accurate way to find the right journalists, build media and pitch lists in seconds, send press releases and get results. 

The comprehensive MediaHQ database lists the details of every journalist, and media outlet in Ireland and the UK and is full of time saving features that take the grunt work out of PR. It guarantees up to 97% accuracy on every send.

We’re looking for a UI/UX Designer to be part of our diverse team. We’re looking for someone who is driven, motivated and creative.

What will I be doing?

Assisting our Product Team in:

• Designing Prototypes and high fidelity UI mockups.

• Managing our apps design system. 

• User testing.

• Contributing in and helping set up design workshops. Delivering on our roadmap by assisting in the building and shipping of new features for our constantly evolving product.

• Gathering qualitative and quantitative user research.

• Wireframing and writing specifications for new features.

• Contributing to the launch of new features including writing documentation. 

• Dealing with customer support queries.

• Helping with QA testing of new features.

• Delivering UX research.

• Designing Prototypes and high fidelity UI mockups.

• Managing our apps design system. 

• User testing.

• Contributing in and helping set up design workshops.

• Helping our Marketing team by contributing to the design of marketing assets, presentations and the MediaHQ marketing website.

Do you have:

• Curiosity and the ability to be a team player with a growth mindset. MediaHQ is a progressive organisation with a can-do, innovative culture. 

• Currently studying or having attained at least degree level in a relevant field i.e. Digital Design, Software Engineering, Digital Interaction Design, Digital Interactive Media, UX/UI Design, Multimedia etc.

• An demonstrable interest in SaaS product design.

• A demonstrable interest in graphic and UI design. 

• Some knowledge of Front End technologies – JavaScript , CSS, HTML, Front-End frameworks (Angular etc.). You will not be writing code in this role but a knowledge and understanding of the technologies used to build modern web apps is desired but not essential.   

• Knowledge of modern productivity tools - Teamwork, Jira, Clickup

• Knowledge of modern design tools: Figma, Illustrator, Canva etc.

• Excellent communication skills.

• Knowledge in UX research.

• Knowledge in UX and UI design for web apps. 

• Some knowledge of modern  website builders: Webflow, Wordpress.

Hybrid Work

We are Dublin-based but offer a progressive hybrid working policy for the right candidate. The job will require you to keep office working hours from 9am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday. You will be required to be in the Dublin office a minimum of one day per week.
